As a Senior Content Designer t at Auto Trader, you’ll strategize and create the content for the user interface of Auto Trader’s products. You’ll be actively engaged in the end-to-end product development process–including defining the problem, brainstorming on the product vision, writing the interface language, and reviewing analytics to understand user behaviour to shape messaging direction—while working alongside Product Managers, Developers, Researchers, and Designers.

The work will range from high-level concept strategy to detailed editing. Also, you’ll get to evaluate the usability of new and existing product on an ongoing basis and ensure UX content strategy is effectively implemented cross platform.

As we’re still in the early stage of building the UX Content Strategy team, you’ll define our content standards and influence the overall UX direction of Auto Trader products, which will impact the experience of millions of customers. Sound interesting?

The requirements

We are looking for someone who is humble in their approach to problem solving and equally as audacious to believe that you can influence the way that the UK’s motoring public buy and sell cars. You will be as curious about looking at the impact of your work as you are passionate about creating it.

You will have solid working experience with content on web or mobile UX. You will also have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or equivalent experience.

You will have a portfolio showcasing experience across different UX content types such as user interfaces, microcopy, education message, direct or transactional emails and style guides. Experience in building and maintaining a content standard guide in a large cross-functional team environment.

A great understanding of constraint and opportunity that technology creates is also essential, as well excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will have experience working with engineering and product management teams as part of the software development process.
