More Than Hybrid, It's Connected

What is connected working?

At Autotrader, hybrid working goes far beyond simply splitting time between the office and home, it’s about connection. Connected working is our way of balancing flexibility with collaboration, giving you the opportunity to work from home while ensuring we stay connected.

Why it is important to us

Collaboration. Communication. Connection. These simply work better in person.

While virtual calls can be great for quick check-ins or one-to-one conversations, some moments work better when together. Training sessions, project catch ups, and team stand-ups all benefit from being together. That’s why our office spaces are intentionally designed for collaboration, featuring everything from standing desks to meeting rooms with writeable walls. At the same time, we know that time at home plays an important role - it gives colleagues space to focus, catch up and plan.

More than hybrid, it's connected

What it looks like in practice

You'll spend a minimum of 3 days a week in the office with your team, focused on collaboration and connection:

  • Fixed Days (2 days): Two set office days each week, ensuring your immediate team and community are on-site at the same time.
  • Regular Days (1 day): A third set office day designed to offer some flexibility while creating predictable time for cross-team collaboration.
  • Remote First: Set periods during the summer and winter where you can work remotely from anywhere in the UK or even approved locations abroad, perfect for colleagues visiting family.

Prefer the office routine? Our office remains fully open 5 days a week for any colleagues who want or need to come in every day.

Flexibility is more than just working from home. We also offer flexible start and finish times and extended or reduced lunch breaks. This naturally looks a bit different depending on the team; for example, our customer-facing roles need to be online and ready to help our customers from 9am.

During the recruitment process, a member of our team will chat with you about exactly what this looks like for your specific role, clarify your weekly schedule, and answer any questions you have.

If this sounds like the kind of environment where you’d thrive, we’d love you to be part of it. Explore our current opportunities and discover how connected working could shape the next chapter of your career at Autotrader.
